BIOGRAPHY

Nicole Carswell, the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeder’s and Exhibitors’ Association’s National Clinician, brings more than 15 years to the clinic environment and Horse Fair and Expo Market.

Nicole earned a degree in Animal Science from Morehead State University and has continued to expand her knowledge.  Nicole chose the path of riding instruction when she began a lesson program in 1986.  Since then she has instructed many World Champion riders and trained several horses which went on to win World Championships.

Nicole has ventured into other areas within the Walking Horse Industry, specifically judge’s training and certification.  Nicole played a vital role in the first judge’s Equitation Certification offered, having organized and provided implementation for the curriculum.  She also served on the judge’s education panels for the National Horse Show Commission and TWHBEASM.  Nicole has held an NHSC AAA Master judge’s license with certifications in pleasure, equitation, and versatility, and currently holds the same license with the TWHBEA.

Her expertise has allowed her to travel to other areas of the globe including Liche, Germany where she officiated the first judge’s certification for European judges and Alperin, Germany where she judged the European Championships.  In 2007 Nicole will be leading the first European Youth Riding Camp in Wemding, Germany.  Nicole travels to Melbourne, Australia every other year to participate in Equitana Asia Pacific and to provide clinics at Emerald Valley Farm in Victoria, Australia.

With her extensive instruction background, Nicole was instrumental in forming the TWHBEA Instructor Certification Program and helped design the TWHBEA Academy Program.

Public events are the top priority on Nicole‘s schedule each year.  She will be presenting at horse fairs, clinics, breed demonstrations, and seminars throughout the country.  Her clinics cover horsemanship, training, gait recognition, trail safety, equitation, and show ring preparation.

Nicole’s staff includes several second-tier clinicians available for smaller venues.  These clinicians have experience in a wide range of disciplines and are based across the United States.

The first book written on horsemanship for the Tennessee Walking Horse rider, A MATTER OF PRIDE, was authored by Nicole and she also created a new video, “EQUITATION AND SHOWRING PRESENTATION”.
